We have managed to negotiate a tremendous savings on the normal cost of a room.
Single Occupancy is £60 per person per night; includes breakfast during the weekend.
Double Occupancy is £45 per person per night; includes breakfast during the weekend. If you wish to share a room please decide who to share with prior to booking your room.
This is 4 star hotel and includes access and use of the leisure centre in the Park with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gymnasium. For those who wish to stay either side of these dates, the rate remains the same.

Travel Information
Harpenden is located only 25 minutes North West of Central London by rail,10 minutes from Luton airport, 45 minutes from Heathrow Airport by road, 45 minutes from Stansted Airport by Road and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Gatwick Airport by rail. It is easily accessible from the M1 junctions 9 and 10, from the M25 and from the A1. It is a lovely town surrounded by countryside. The High Street is lined with trees and there are a good selection of restaurants including Indian, Thai, Italian, French, Chinese as well as Pizza and Pub food. Around 30,000 people live there. The course is located at Park Hall off Leyton Road 300 metres from the entrance to the Park in which there is a Leisure Centre housing a gymnasium, Tennis Courts, Squash Courts, Swimming Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi. Stanley Kubrick had his home between Harpenden and St Albans until his death. It was also home to Eric Morcambe. The town is surrounded by Parkland, Common land, Golf courses, Farm Land and many green open spaces yet it is only a stones throw from London.
By Road:
From the North, exit M1 (J10) and follow A1081 to Harpenden (approx 5 miles). For Harpenden House Hotel, go over mini roundabout, through town centre, over the next mini-roundabout and turn left at the next roundabout. Harpenden House Hotel is 200 yards on the left.
From the South, exit M1 (J9), take third exit off slip road and follow A5183 signs for Harpenden (approx 2 miles). Take first exit at roundabout for B487 Harpenden (approx 2 miles), take first exit onto A1081 into Harpenden 600 yards, at next roundabout take third exit, Harpenden House Hotel is 200 yards on left.
By Rail:

From London, take the overhead railway from St Pancras Station heading north towards Bedford and get off at Harpenden. The rail network is First Capital Connect.The journey time is approximately 25 minutes. Cost one way is £10.90 as at time of going to Press. An off peak open return will cost you £20.40. If you get the fast train it normally stops at St Albans and then Harpenden. Trains are frequent. You shouldn’t have to wait more than 15 minutes for a train. By Air:
The simplest and cheapest route is to fly to London Luton Airport. You can fly direct to Luton from most of Europe. Easy Jet is the low cost airline. Monarch also fly there. The course location is only a 10 minute drive away.
From Luton Airport:
Take the shuttle bus to Luton Airport Parkway railway station. They are about every 10 minutes. Take any train headed towards London. Harpenden is the first stop. The rail network is First Capital Connect. The journey time is 6 minutes and the trains are frequent. You shouldn’t have to wait more than 10 – 15 minutes for a train. The cost one way is £3.40 at the time of going to press. See attached maps to get to Harpenden House Hotel. Harpenden House Hotel is within 5 minutes walk of the station. If you have heavy luggage there are taxis at the station.
Or you can take a taxi from Luton Airport which takes 10 – 15 minutes. It’s approximately 6 miles and cost £17 at the time of going to press.
From Gatwick Airport:
Take the train headed towards Bedford. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and it is a direct service. There are between 3 and 4 trains each hour. The cost one way is £22.90. An off peak open return, which is valid for one month costs £29.90. Both these prices are at the time of going to press. The rail network is First Capital Connect. See attached maps to get to the Harpenden House Hotel. A taxi from Gatwick to Harpenden will cost you £105 and from Harpenden to Gatwick £100.
From Stansted Airport:
It is much better to fly to Luton airport, however if you do fly to Stansted, you can either take the National Express Bus to Luton Airport and then get the shuttle bus to the Train Station and the train to Harpenden or take the train to London Liverpool Street (journey time approximately 45 minutes), get the underground to St Pancras and take the overhead train towards Bedford and get off at Harpenden (25 minutes from St Pancras.) See attached maps to get to Harpenden House Hotel. One way rail fare is $29.60 and off peak open return £36.60.
A taxi will take you about 45 minutes and costs £65 from the airport or £60 to the airport from Harpenden at the time of going to press. Check prices with Harpenden Taxis tel: +44 (0) 1582 822 822. Book the taxi before you fly and give them the flight umber, airline and arrival terminal together with your mobile phone number. They will check the flight number before they leave for the airport to make sure it is on time. When you arrive, make sure you switch your phone on so they can call you and you them. From London Heathrow:
Either take the underground to St Pancras and then the First Capital Connect train towards Bedford and get off at Harpenden. Total journey time between 1 hour 26 minutes and 1 hour 54. See attached maps to get to Harpenden House Hotel.
