It Worked So Good…We Stopped Doing it
Following, is a recent email received by Larry:
“I purchased the Abundance Course about 18 months ago. I found a peace that I never had. However, after some time, I recently decided I would re-learn the whole course again (kinda forgot about it) and am experiencing an almost constant state of clenching and ‘ack’ ever since I started it. Even when I’m not concentrating on releasing. This also happened to me 18 months ago when I started the program. I release as often as I can and yet, I can’t shake the ‘ack.’ Could this be because I just have so much to release and am bringing up stuff I didn’t know I had?”
If we stop, we get stuck. The above email is a good example of, if we stop, we get stuck. Every Abundance Course, Larry asks the class, how many people have stopped releasing for a couple of days and feel like they don’t know how to Release?
Inevitably several hands are raised and several others of us squirm a little bit. Yes, if we stop we get stuck. If we stop Releasing we will think we do not know how. It might seem strange that we get gains, sometimes remarkable gains, and yet, we stop releasing, as in the example of the person who wrote the email. She realized a never before experienced peace. Yet she stopped releasing at some point afterward.
Yes, to some, it might seem strange to have nice gains then stop releasing, but to those of us who have been releasing for a period of time, we are not surprised. For one thing, all of us have experienced resistance to releasing at one time or another for a brief or longer period. Some of us have quit, gotten stuck and got jump-started. Another reason we aren’t surprised is, we too have a mind and we know how tricky, how conniving and how resistant that mind is. The mind is looking to stop us from Releasing. Our mind does not want us to release. Along the way, it throws plenty of logs in the road to derail our Releasing.
Our mind does not want us to Release because it knows, if we do, it will be undone. Our mind knows, Freedom for us, is doom for the mind. The mind is like a computer. A mind built the computer in its exact likeness so if you don’t know what you’re doing and you start messing around with your computer, it’ll turn into a pile of junk. The mind that built the computer put in an automatic protective mechanism to shut the computer down and stop it from being unraveled.
In the same way, our mind has a protective mechanism to get you to stop unraveling it, to get you to stop Releasing. So, we start releasing, we get some nice gains and then suddenly resistance pops up. That is our mind saying, you’re not going to unravel me. I’ll show you I can get you to stop releasing. We stop releasing. We don’t know why. We just stop. We have the feeling we can’t release, we have forgotten how to release, it isn’t working for us, we just are not able to Release. We’re Stuck.
We get into asking our mind what to do about not being able to release. Of course, our mind does not have the answer and it tells us to beat ourselves up. We begin beating ourselves up and disapproving of ourselves and disapproving of our releasing. We find ourselves spinning around just like page 8 in the Abundance Course workbook. We get into figuring out how to release, figuring out what we should do, figuring out what’s wrong, and figuring out just about everything. We want to know the answer, we want to think about it all the time. And all the time we are beating ourselves up, and as we beat ourselves up we get further and further away from beginning to Release again.
Remember, our minds are not interested in us releasing. Our mind’s interest is in survival, we set it up that way, just as the computer was set up with a protective device, our mind is set up with automatic protection against being undone. Our mind is going to use every distraction and escape imaginable to get us to stop releasing.
As we know, momentum is extremely important in releasing. Here is why. Momentum is energy. And momentum is energy that can overcome resistance. Momentum can overcome the mind’s trickery. If we have high energy, high momentum, we can overcome the mind with its distractions and escapes, its resistance. If we do not have high energy, high momentum, the mind will get us to stop releasing and it will be sure we are good and stuck.
So, what can we do? First, we have to remember there is nothing better to jump start our momentum than a weekend Abundance Course. So we go to a lot of classes. We go to 7-Day Retreats. We get a Release partner and we do the advanced CD courses beginning with the Goals and Resistance Course. We are conscientious about going on the Wednesday night conference call. We get and keep momentum.
As soon as we finish the Abundance Course, the Goals and Resistance course is a must. Stopping releasing is because of resistance. The Goals and Resistance course is about cornering our resistance and getting the tools to dismantle it. We keep releasing. We keep releasing and we stay positive in spite of whatever the mind is throwing in our face. We see what our mind is doing and we get bigger than our mind. We see we always were bigger than our mind. And, we keep releasing right through all that resistance our mind presents us with.
Releasing is a skill. Like any skill, the more we practice the better we get. Momentum is the best way to avoid getting stuck and the best way to get ourselves unstuck should it ever happen to us. Release, practice Releasing. Practice being in Release 24/7. See everything that happens, all your feelings, culminate into one of the three wants and immediately let go of whichever want you are feeling. Go to a weekend class, a 7 day retreat. Do the Goals and Resistance Course. If you have already done it, go through it again.
Give Yourself Approval.
One thing is certain, when anyone falls into resistance and gets stuck, there is a lot of disapproval going on. So, give yourself approval. Why not all the time? Giving oneself approval provides the greatest shield against any resistance, the power of love. Giving oneself approval moves us up into Courageousness, Acceptance and Peace. Put yourself to sleep giving yourself approval and wake yourself up giving yourself approval and then give yourself approval all day long.
It is not necessary to get stuck. Keep releasing. If we stop, we will forget we know how to release and we will be stuck. If we stop, we get stuck. If you get stuck, call in and get help getting unstuck.
Be vigilant. Our mind will try to stop us. It is protecting itself. We have to be awake and be releasing. And we must have a strong intention, when that mind rises up and tries to stop us, decide, it is going to be a victory Freedom, we are not going to allow a victory for garbage, we are going to release and it is going to be a victory for Freedom.
