Another observation: If you walked into Harvard’s library in 1638, you could have read every book they stocked. After all, there were only 400 of them. So, if you read a book a week you’d have read all 400 books in 8 years.
Today, the Harvard library stocks something like… 15 million books!
Another observation: More new info is now put in front of us in a single day – (via the newspapers, on the Internet, over the airwaves and beamed into our living rooms through the TV, etc.,) – than was available in the previous 20 centuries combined.
Look, let’s bring this home. My point is:
WE NOW LIVE IN A JAM PACKED WORLD…
AND… THE “CONVEYER BELT” OF LIFE
IS JUST GETTING FASTER AND FASTER!
And the best most of us can do is hope to hang on by our fingertips to the ever increasing pace of life.
